"...if anyone makes the assistance of grace depend on the humility or obedience of man and does not agree that it is a gift of grace itself that we are obedient and humble, he contradicts the Apostle who says, "What have you that you did not receive?" (1 Cor. 4:7), and, "But by the grace of God I am what I am" (1 Cor. 15:10). (Council of Orange: Canon 6)

  • « Mormonism v. Christianity - a quote from Dr. James White | Main | Watch Sproul on The Holiness of God » To Launch Major Upgrade

    Important News from

Hear ye, hear ye.... Glad tidings! If the Lord wills, will finally be launching its long anticipated major upgrade sometime next week (the week starting Feb 18th), corresponding to the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival). It is pretty certain that we will receive some hate mail from those of you who have become comfortable with the old site, but when you experience the ease of finding what you are looking for, it is likely that your complaints will be quickly silenced. :)

    New Features will include:

Redesign of the look and feel of the site. Color theme similar.

    Highly Scalable

    RSS and Email Subscriptions

Dynamic databased driven directory of theology

Search on Every page (smooth as silk)...

The capacity for "Moderators", of whom we can assign a password and category. In other words, will no longer be limited to the work of one person but is slated to be a collaborative effort among Christ-centered, Reformed-minded folk. Categories can be assigned to experts or Aficionado on the various topics.

While the focus of the content will remain the same, Lord willing, we will continue to add new features, articles and categories to the site. The goal is continue to be a vertical Christ-centered portal for the historic Christian faith.

I've been enjoying for about a year now. It's a rich resource that I glean from practically daily.

Looking foward to the new site design. Keep up the great work.

The snapshot of the new site looks really neat. Just curious, why does the launch correspond to the Chinese New Year?

Alan is a remarkable resource and I thank you for creating and maintaining it. I look forward to the redesign — with a bit of apprehension.

You see, as a good Baptist, I get uneasy anytime someone suggests changing the color of the carpet in "my home church." I've become quite familiar with and consider myself at home there. I know where to find information on any number of topics and am very comfortable navigating there. So, while I'm cautiously excited about the upcoming changes I may be a bit cranky until I'm able to settle back into my pew (so to speak).

Grace and peace to you in the name of the only Savior, Jesus Christ

Thanks for the encouragment (and Chip), I can understand your apprehension. I expect about 10% of the people will send me hate mail,:) but once they see that the content is the same and it is 25X easier to find the resources they are looking for, and the subsections supersmooth to navigate, the hostility will die down quickly, and a quiet rejoicing will overcome them :). I thank the Lord for the change...and it was necessary if the site was going to grow. The old one's data was becoming impossible to manage.

I feel very much at home with the old site and the inconsistencies in the design. It feels like home, but the new site is really clean, and while I have not brought over all the quotations from the old site, most still remains the same. It the site is missing any content, we will soon remedy and even improve upon it, as the Lord provides.

As for Chinese New Year, well, it just happened to be completed at this time ... and since I am closely associtaed with China on many fronts, it just came to mind. I lived in China from 1987-1999 .... The new logo will also include the Chinese text equivalent tranlation for the word "monergism" in it.

Blessing upon you as well with His Grace and Mercy and Peace!

Thank you for your Words and the work of Faith in Solus Christus hereon and at

I am new to you and your word.

I most enjoyed the words in your post on "the GOAL":::>

""The goal is too continue to be a vertical Christ-centered portal for the historic Christian faith.""

These words are an indictment against me, you and all mankind.

Oh how easy it is to be natural in this unnatural world without His Grace, Mercy and Peace as our daily bread; that foundation, that wellspring, springing up to Eternal Life!

    Indeed great is the mystery!

1Ti 3:16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

    I too am impatient!

    Greetings John -

I am REALLY looking forward to the upgrade. I refer so many people to your site, I consider your site a strategic tool in my opportunities to share the wealth found in Reformed Theology.

May God richly bless the upcoming launch!

all the best with the upgrade, it will only make the best, better. I am looking forward, very much, to browsing through the pages of the new site. is a website that does bring all glory to God alone. It is my homepage and has been for many sun rises now, and it will stay my homepage until I pass from this life into the next....

    Happy Chinese New Year

Woo-woo! The new design looks great - I am REALLY looking forward to the enhanced functionality. I have been following since it was a "wee-web". It is great to see it maturing more and more.

Keep up the "good works ...prepared in advance"!

    Keep up the good works,John.

    Is Monergism 神恩独作?

    Hi Duncan

"Shensi Duzuo" may be the translation for monergism ... but it has specifically to do with regeneration. Regeneration is the work of God alone and not the cooperation between God and man. You could perhaps say, "chongsheng xinayu xinxin" - regeneraiton precedes faith.

The new design has gone online and I must say that it is superb. Monergism has been my primary theology resource for some time now and I am truly excited to see that all of the features that have recently arrived are even better than I had anticipated them to be.

I truly pray that God will bless the ministry of for years to come - the ministry has most certainly been a blessing for me.

    It looks GREAT!

Monegism is part of my day - every day - and I think the redesign accomplishes exactly what you set out to do.

    Thanks for your hard work.
