"...if anyone makes the assistance of grace depend on the humility or obedience of man and does not agree that it is a gift of grace itself that we are obedient and humble, he contradicts the Apostle who says, "What have you that you did not receive?" (1 Cor. 4:7), and, "But by the grace of God I am what I am" (1 Cor. 15:10). (Council of Orange: Canon 6)

    Rev. Samson,

Personally, I am surprised that there are no Sproul titles on your list. I am new to this site, so I may be unaware if there may be underlying reasons for this. Where would your favorite Sproul title rank on this list and which one would it be?

    Peace to you,

    Danny Nelson

    Hi Danny

Peace be with you and thanks for you posting. You shouldn't be surprised as this is not an exhaustive list - only a 12 title sampling. Sproul's Holiness of God and Willing to Believe were both titles we benefitted from.

I am an undergraduate Biblical Studies major and new to the site. I am not reformed in theology, but I respect the great men that were. I found the list quite good, especially the inclusion of John Bunyan's The Fear of God. I would love to see you all put together a list of "must" reads for Bible majors.

    In Christ,
    Andrew Johnson

Bible major must-reads. Not sure what that means exactly but if I were to guess I would receommend the following

Old Testament Theology by Bruce Waltke
New Testament Theology by Tom Schreiner
New Testament Use of the Old Testament by DA Carson
