John 6
In his concluding message from Great Falls, Montana, Dr. James White expounds the sixth chapter of John's gospel. Jesus' words, heard here in their context and in progression, proclaim much the same revelation as Paul's words in Romans 8 and 9. God is truly Sovereign in the matter of salvation. I would only make a contrast between two verses noting the underlying and broader issue Dr. White is putting over here in this presentation so well.
It is this that The "Chosen" "Elect" of God face as we see the time drawing to a close, a bifurcation of the gatherings of the two kinds of peoples:::>
Luk 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
Luk 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!"
"those with whom he is pleased!"
and
Rev 1:7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.
"....all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him....".
What is the issue then? As Dr. White teaches us:::>
Joh 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.
and
Joh 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
Joh 6:64 But there are some of you who do not believe." (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)
Joh 6:65 And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father."
There is a work to be done in all the world. Every Gospel and the Book of Acts records Jesus saying it. There is a gathering together unto Him by this Gospel of the Kingdom and no other.
St. Paul the Apostle:::>
Eph 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
Eph 1:8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight
Eph 1:9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ
Eph 1:10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
