"...if anyone makes the assistance of grace depend on the humility or obedience of man and does not agree that it is a gift of grace itself that we are obedient and humble, he contradicts the Apostle who says, "What have you that you did not receive?" (1 Cor. 4:7), and, "But by the grace of God I am what I am" (1 Cor. 15:10). (Council of Orange: Canon 6)

We are a community of confessing believers who love the gospel of Jesus Christ, affirm the Biblical and Christ-exalting truths of the Reformation such as the five solas, the doctrines of grace, monergistic regeneration, and the redemptive historical approach to interpreting the Scriptures.

    40 Arabic Words

Dr. James White writes, "The Qur'an denies, in a single ayah (verse), that Jesus the Messiah was crucified. By denying this historical reality, the Qur'an forces its followers to not only reject one of the most certain events of history itself, but by so doing it separates them from the life-giving message of the cross of Jesus Christ.

In this video we compare the 40 Arabic words of Surah 4:157 with the 33 Greek words of Galatians 2:20. Here are the texts (as translated by the co-author of the lyrics, James White):

Surah 4:157: And in reference to the Jews who said, "We killed the Messiah, Jesus the Son of Mariam, the apostle of God," they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it was made to appear to them. And indeed those who differ in the matter are surely in doubt about it. They have no knowledge about it except following mere assumption. But of a certainty they did not kill him.

Galatians 2:20: I have been crucified together with the Messiah. So it is no longer I who live, but the Messiah living in me. And this fleshy life I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God, the one who loved me and gave himself in my place.

It is our sincere hope that Muslims will know we present this with true love in our hearts for them, and in the hope that they will see their need for Christ's work, and will submit in repentance and faith to His lordship."

For me, as a former muslim, it was finally accepting that I was a sinner and that my works could never be good enough. Once I got past that point, it was downhill. It was EXTREMELY difficult at that point for me to understand and accept that God had a son. It simply did not make sense to me coming from a muslim background. I fought and struggled with these teachings as it was very foreign to my way of thinking. I'm not saying that every muslim that hears the Gospel struggles the way I did or did not struggle, but in my case, accepting that it was Jesus that died on the cross was easy once I was over the hurdle. Keep in mind, as a muslim, I had to accept that everything I was ever taught about life and death was wrong. My family, my parents, were all wrong in what they taught me, albeit all as decieved as I was. My whole heritage was built on a lie. It was an incredibly difficult hurdle to overcome. It took a full year.

I'm not sure what my Muslim friends would think about this video. We're doing a teaching series on Islam in a few weeks and I'm interested to see their reaction to this video and whatever else we point them to. As always, thanks for sharing.

No muslim nor anybody else does anything themselves to be saved; it is all of grace. The Lord uses videos like this and other ministries of His word as the means. If Christ died for you then you will respond to the universal command to repent and believe the gospel, and be saved. Hallelujah!

"Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God." -John 3:18

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." -Ephesians 2:8

What a wonderful video! Thank you for posting this, it was very edifying!

I watched the debate on ABN last night where I believe Dr. White raises the issue with Mr. Al Ansari. They didn't get down that road very far and the first comment makes the reasons for why apparent, to me, at least?

Also, I wholeheartedly agree that it is not until God puts His Faith into our being will we ever "hear" the Truth that sets one free to live completely before the Lord for His Glory!

Without first being given the Grace of God no one would ever understand this admonition which parenthetically ends the great "resurrection" chapter of 1 Corinthians:

1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

I hope God will use this video to reach muslims.

    Peace be upon U^^
I heard that the first book of the New Testament is not Gospels but Epistles of Paul 50AD 20-25 years after Jesus left and 20-25 years before the Gospels. And I know that the bible was written by men and I know that Christians read the bible on different languages "there is no specific copy that all Christian can agree on!"
Ahh.. can anyone tell me when the bible was authenticated because I heard it was by men in a city that 1440 mile away from the place of the event and after 400 year!!!
So how do you want me to trust what men wrote after the death of Jesus peace be upon him.
I believe that bible from God but I do not know which one of the bookssss that you are reading is the closest one to the real bible. So my head and heart refuses to believe in the existing bible.
Btw as a Muslim I do believe that Jesus is a saver. Because it is mentioned in Quran that Jesus peace be upon him will come back to earth and clean it from the injustice.
    Alhoma saly ala Muhammad^^

Please check out this video of a broadcast on the theme you are asking about.

I know I've heard a couple of Ravi Zacharias addresses where he mentions meeting with a Sheik Talal(sp?) of the third largest mosque in the world. He said "we Muslims must stop saying Jesus didn't die, but why did he die." Ravi asked if he'd go on record and he said he would. No idea of outcome. Very good video!
